Keiva Waterfall
Keiva Waterfall is one of the most popular routes in Krasnaya Polyana. The waterfall is named after Elmar Ivanovich Keiva, an Estonian naturalist tour guide who discovered this spot in 1967 and led tourists there for many years. This waterfall is a cascade plunging from a height of 10 meters through a Colchic forest. The main feature of the location is that the waterfall does not dry up even in hot weather due to a constant flow of water from mountain springs, and it does not freeze in winter. The route to the waterfall passes through a beautiful forest with century-old trees, ferns, and mosses, creating a sense of a real adventure. The water in the waterfall is crystal clear and cold, making it a pleasant place to refresh on a hot day.

How to get there: By car to the "Sorokopyatka" microdistrict in Krasnaya Polyana (Defenders of the Caucasus Street, houses 124–132). There is free parking, after which you need to walk along a well-trodden path through the forest. The route length is about 2.5 km with an elevation gain of approximately 300 meters. By public transport, take a bus to the "Pik Hotel" stop, or an electric train to the "Esto-Sadok" railway station, then walk.
Footwear and clothing: comfortable hiking shoes with good grip are essential, as the trails can be slippery due to moisture and moss. Clothing should cover arms and legs to protect against branches and insects. Bring water and a snack.
Safety: follow the trail markings and do not go into unprepared areas. Be careful on wet rocks near the waterfall. Do not leave children unattended near the water.
Ethics: do not leave trash or pick plants. Swimming is allowed, but be careful of the depth and current.
