Exhibition and history: The cave is approximately 160 meters long and features two spacious halls up to 10 meters high, where traces of ancient human settlements, stone tools, and unique rock paintings have been found.

Location: The cave entrance is located 120 meters above the river level. Inside, wooden walkways, stairs, and lighting have been installed for safe exploration.

Interactivity: You can take an engaging guided tour, learn stories about the lives of Neanderthals, and take photos from the observation deck overlooking the Akhtyr Gorge and the Mzymta River.

📝 Practical tips:

How to get there: Kazachy Brod village, Forel Street. Take buses No. 105, 105s, or 135 (from Sochi and Adler) to the “Forel Farm” or “Akhtyrskaya Cave”/“Skypark” stop. From the stop to the entrance is a 30–40 minute walk along a forest trail across a suspension bridge over the river.

Comfort: Be sure to wear comfortable trekking shoes with a grippy sole — the trail is steep and slippery in places. It is cool inside the cave (+10–12°C), so even in summer, bring a light sweater or windbreaker. Take a flashlight or a charged phone for lighting.

Ethics: Do not touch the rock paintings or the cave walls, do not leave trash on the trail or in the forest, and do not pick plants — the area is part of a protected nature zone.

🗺️ Integration with the location: The cave is located very close to the SkyPark extreme entertainment park, which has the world's longest suspension bridge, as well as a trout farm. From here, it is convenient to continue the route to the Psakh River canyons and Krasnaya Polyana. There are picnic areas and cafes nearby.
